Moments to Treasure

This Sunday we went to Auntie Peggy's home for a barbarcue dinner. While they were preparing the meal, Chris took Nicole for a dip in the pool. Nicole did not want to put her feet in the water at first.

A few toys helped her to settle in the water.

Looked like Nicole was beginning to enjoy her first swim of the year.

The lovely smile showed us Nicole was having a good time. However, getting out of the pool was another story. It was a little cold, she was shivering all over.

Nicole enjoying her favorite food - sweet corn.

Monday 5/30 Today was Memorial Day holiday. Chris took Becky and Nicole out to lunch with Mah Mah. They ordered the Kids' meal for Nicole.

Wow. dessert was included, Nicole was happy to have this big bowl of jello all to herself.

For dinner, they went to Nicole's favorite restaurant - the Soup Plantation for a gathering with Rachel's family.

After dinner, Nicole was having fun playing with big sister Kristen.

Visit of Sunny and Winnie

Nice post with Auntie Sunny.

Now is Auntie Winnie's turn to take a picture with Jason.

Becky was happy of her best friend's visit.

Rachel lending a hand to feed Baby Jason.

Nicole came home from pre-school to play with Rachel. This time she was more willing to share her toys with her friend.

Little Rachel wanted to hold Baby Jason, but he looked a bit scared.

In the evening after dinner and putting Nicole to bed, Chris and Becky went to the hospital to visit Selena who just gave birth to their second boy.

A wonderful morning!

Nicole woke up early today. Becky came in to fetch Jason to feed him, so I could catch some more sleep, since she was already up to take of Nicole. I was even able to take a shower and wash my hair. When I got downstairs, wow, more surprise! Becky was making pancake for us. She put strawberry in the pancake making the pancake moist and sweeter. Yum, Yum, yum. Nicole enjoyed them so much, she danced as she ate.
With the extended time I get to spend here, Becky volunteered to do the cooking, so she could learn to cook more chinese dishes. So far she has done fried rice, fried noodles, tofu dishes, bitter melon with sparerib, vegetables with chickenand steamed fish. Of course, she makes good spagetti too. I took a picture of her working on the pancakes. She said," Oh, yes, show it to Daddy, so he knows I can cook!" It is good to know, so I could leave with peace of mind knowing she can take care of the cooking while taking care of the kids.

Nicole enjoying the pancake Mommy made.

Becky really took the effort to take over cooking. Starting the day with strawberry pancake, what a treat to us!

I am supposed to go home today!

After seven months away from home, I would love to go back. On the other hand, I did not want to leave because I knew I would certainly miss Baby Jason and worry about Becky having too much to handle all by herself. Last night around midnight I went downstairs to fetch baby's milk, Becky was still working on the computer. I asked her why didn't she go to bed when she could. That really upset her. "What do you think I am doing? I am working on what they pay me to do." Oops, wrong question, I guessed. I thought you are lucky that they pay you managing the condo. Being all in the family, they could have asked you to do it without pay. I still remember Daniel worked the whole first year in Houston without drawing any salary. Anyway, I was glad to get the chance to stay when Becky was especially busy at this time, trying to find new tenants for the soon vacant apartments. People usually came after work around 6:00 to 8:00pm, that is when we are usually extra busy, trying to finish cooking and feeding Nicole and the baby, then put Nicole to bed and try to get some dinner ourselves. So very often the food got all cold when we found time to eat it.

Jason happy to be sitting up by himself and conversing with Mommy.

It was getting so hot, we had to change Baby Jason into this lighter outfit.

Oh, I am so much more comfortable with that tight outfit off and lying on this soft pillow,

You think I have a big tummy?

Mom, there is a big caterpillar in my bed!

Yes, Mommy you are right, this caterpillar is harmless and it plays beautiful music.

Daddy & Mommy's night out.

We did not go anywhere or do anything special during the day, except Chris had to take Mah Mah's car for repair. Since Hubert had invited Chris & Becky out for dinner, I did not have to cook much. Nicole enjoyed the beef rice I made for her. They put her to bed before leaving. I did not have a chance to eat yet, but Baby Jason usually is more fussy at this time. I carried her in the carrier and tried to grab a bite of Nicole's left over cold rice. It was passed 10:30pm before I managed to put Jason to bed and went for a quick shower. Then I headed straight to bed myself.

Nicole in her summer outfit, how cute!

How do you like my close-up?

Visit to Picture People again for Jason's 2 month old picture

The appointment for taking Jason's 2 month-old picture was at 10:45am. We made there on time. Unlike last time, Jason was fully awake this time. It did not take long to have his picture taken, however, we had to wait at least one hour to get the picyures. Becky spent the time looking for Jeremy's birthday present, while I pushed Jason around and around. Finally he felt asleep. We headed back to the studio, because we needed to leave soon in order to pick up Nicole on time. We tried to choose the pictures that we want as fast as we could and then drove straight to Nicole's pre-school. I did not know if we were late or not, we were glad this time the teachers did not ask for any extra charge.
Today being Monday, Chris went as usual for his basketball game and Becky for her Women's Fellowship. Jason again was pretty fussy. I finally managed to put him to sleep after feeding him 2 extra ounces apple juice. He kept on sleeping even after they came home. That was really nice, allowing me time to clean up the kitchen, washed all the dirty dishes and milk bottles.

Jason was happy going out.

We had a good bonding time strolling around in the Mall while waiting for the pictures.

Jason finally fell asleep.

Baby Jason's poop record

After last week's big poop, four days in a row no poop again. I was beginning to worry, but Jason passed out a small one on Tuesday. The next day, nothing again. So in the middle of Wednesday night, I gave him 1 oz apple juice. It did not produce any result in the morning. In late afternoon I let him have another ounce of prune juice. Finally on Thursday, Baby Jason produced a mega explosion - both his back and front was soiled. The next day, he continued to move his bowel three times. Now we were pretty sure he had cleaned out his intestine. We were glad his appetite returned. Both Saturday and Sunday, he pooped once. Hopefully we got this under control and his bowels were back to normal.

What a lovely smile. Jason is much more relaxed now that his bowels are back to normal.

Big sister Nicole always enjoy holding brother Jason.

Last Sunday in LA before going home

After church, Nicole went to Mah Mah's place, Chris and Becky went out for lunch and grocery shopping.
In the evening, Chris joined a new basketball team, he left early for the game because the place where they played was further away. So Becky had to get Nicole home and put her to bed.
Daniel called and suggested I should stay longer and go home with him when he return from his mission trip to China and stop by LA. I gladly agreed. Becky said it was like an answer to a prayer which she didn't even pray.

It was a nice day out. We all went to the Sierra Madre Art Fair. Po Po watching Baby Jason while Daddy and Mommy went with Nicole to the playground.

Mnn, this is fun, but what is over there?

Hey, Mommy , we're over here at the slide.

Nicole was so fast going from one place to another, Daddy had to run after her.

Baby Jason getting restless in the stroller, so Mommy took him out so he could look around.

Baby Jason looking a little bored.

Dinner with Edwin

In the morning, Chris went to IHOP with Nicole as usual. Becky asked if I wanted to go. Even though I loved pancakes, but I simply was too tired to go out. So I chosed to stay and took a shower and wash my hair instead.
I hurried down to fix breakfast. Becky was not too happy with the hot oatmeal because she was hungry. Later, we all went out to the Sierra Madre Art fair. Most of the booths were selling paintings, jewelry, handbags. Some of those displays were quite expensive. There was a small playground where Nicole spent some time there. It was closed to Noon, so we headed home. Nicole fell asleep in the car on the way.
Mee Suk Suk called to let us know we would all go out to dinner with Edwin. Only Samuel could make it tonight though. I am always happy when I don't have to worry about dinner.

Uncle Edwin, thanks for holding me. Hope to see you again after you return from Hong Kong.

Uncle Edwin, look, this is my sticker.

Don't I look cute wearing Uncle Edwin's cap?

A night with fussy Baby Jason

Chris and Becky had to attend Couples Fellowship tonight. I was glad not to have to cook and that they had time to put Nicole to bed before they left. Unfortunately, Baby Jason was not too happy. He fussed and cried then dozed off for just a few minutes and started crying again. I tried holding and walking him, I tried using the carrier to carry him. Each time, he slept for a little while, then woke up wailing for no reason, because he was fed and his diaper was changed. The whole night he continued like this. I was completely exhausted. So finally I tried feeding him again even before it was time. I had to lay him two times before he fell into deep sleep. I immediately crawled into bed also. Daddy and Mommy came home pretty late. I was sound asleep all ready.

Celebration of Chris & Becky's wedding anniversary

Becky's original plan was to go out with Chris for a nice anniversary dinner. However, Edwin was coming back from Las Vagas. All the cousins might want to have dinner with him, so Becky and Chris decided to go out for Sushi Buffet lunch instead. Lunch was about $20.00/person, so that must be a pretty good meal. Hope they enjoyed their lunch and their time alone together.

Monday, May 15, 2006

Today was Monday, Nicole went to pre-school as usual. Chris changed his working schedule from 8:30am and cut down his lunch to 30 minutes. This way now he is able to take Nicole to school. Becky came in to let me take care of Jason so she could go to pump. She fell asleep at the pump. When she woke up, she washed the bottles. Then she worked to update her blog till it was time for her to get Nicole back. We ate leftovers for lunch.
In the afternoon, after putting Jason down, I hurried to make soup for Becky and prepare for tonight's dinner. Nicole woke up from her nap early. It was good, because the minute I went in her room, I could smell she had a poop. She refused to have her diaper changed and ran downstairs. I told her if she lie down and let me changed her diaper, I would cook corn for her. After a lot of coaxing, she finally complied. Ha, but she didn't forget about the corn and kept demanding for it. So I had to fish out the frozen corn from the freezer and cook one for her. Then it was time for Becky to pump , I had to hold Jason and watch Nicole so she could go to pump. Before long, it was time to cook dinner. I asked Becky to cook the rice first. A tenant came to get her lease, so I washed the rice while carrying Jason with the carrier. I was trying to let Becky slowly take over the cooking, so that she could learn how to make a fast meals and taking care of the two kids at the same time.
Becky likes to train Nicole to feed herself. Besides making a mess and refusing help, Nicole ended up eating very little. Becky grabbed a few bites herself then hurried to pump so when Chris come home, she could go with him to church, he for the basket game and she for her fellowship meeting. It was rather late when they returned.

Part of a daily routine - feeding the baby and keeping Ms. Nicole entertained.
