Travel towards Split 2/19/06
Today the weather was nice with sunshine, not too cold. We had lunch at a place called Zadar. What an enjoyable meal. We sat in the sun by the seaside, listening to the soft sound of the unusual sea organ, built under water. Then we took our walk through the Medievel town. Too bad the open market was not operating today because it was Sunday. We always enjoy looking at the local stuffs that they sell there. Before returning to the bus, we stopped by a small coffee shop to get a cup of coffee, while our chief purpose was to use their restroom. We waited and waited, Paul was still missing. Christie and Barbara went back to look for him, but he was nowhere to be seen. It turned out that he had wandered off ahead of us, entered another restaurant to relieve himself. Christie was boiling mad when she finally found him.
After arriving at Split and getting settled in our individual room at the Konoba Varos Hotel, we all ventured out to find the restaurant recommended by the guide. The restaurant was kind of small, but they did find seating big enough for the nine of us. It took a lot of studying and discussing before we could make our order that was sufficient for all of us to share. The dishes were not too big. I didn't think we were quite full. It was very windy and cold on our way back to the hotel which is situated right by the harbour.
