Monday 2/6 Nicole's 1st day at the Preschool.
I got up at 7:15am to give myself time to wash up and get Nicole's breakfast ready. Becky started packing what was necessary to bring to the school. After getting dressed, Nicole refused to let me feed her breakfast, insisting it is Daddy's turn to feed her. Well, but Chris had to go to work. So it wasn't easy to get her breakfast done. We put her shoes on while still keeping her on her high chair. Then I held her up, put her backpack on her back and we started out feeling excited. On the way, we kept her occupied with a piece of cheese, just to make sure she had enough breakfast. Becky was worried that Nicole might not eat her lunch at school.
After checking in with the teacher at the school, we said good-bye to Nicole. She allowed us to give her a kiss then waved us good-bye. Her teacher immediately block off the room, knowing that Nicole would run around on her own ignoring commands. Becky couldn't help herself, she cried a little.
At 11:45am, we went back to pick Nicole home. The Director of the school came to shake hands with me. She commented that Nicole was so cute and doing just fine. I asked if Nicole had cried. "Not at all" was the answer. Just then Nicole showed up. She cooly waved at us. I was relieved to see how calm and happy she looked. Apparently, she did quite OK the first day at school. The classwork she brought home tells us that they were learning the number 6 today, Becky said, " They were learning the number 6 today and should have glued only 6 beans onto the number 6. Look! Nicole's paper was full of beans." We knew she probably kept on asking the teacher for more beans. Ha, ha!
